Personal Statement
It is a great privilege to care for children, especially when they might be ill. I feel fortunate to have the opportunity to work with excellent colleagues at CHKD, and provide the highest quality care for the families of Hampton Roads.
Bio
Dr. Watson comes to Hampton Roads to pursue a lifelong academic career in pediatric hematology oncology, and draws her greatest inspiration from working closely with her patients and families. Her clinical interests are supportive care, sickle cell disease, general oncology, hematology, leukemia, Langerhans cell histiocytosis, and vascular anomalies.
Dr. Watson arrived at CHKD after spending the previous six at the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt, where she was a resident and then clinical fellow in pediatric hematology and oncology. During her time there she became interested in health literacy and excellence in health communication, completing a master's in public health at Vanderbilt to further her expertise in health services research.
She also graduated Summa Cum Laude from Clemson University.
