Whitney Rodriguez, FNP

Bio

Whitney Rodriguez came to CHKD as a travel nurse and has now become a family nurse practitioner in CHKD's dermatology department.

In the past, she worked in Tennessee as a nurse practitioner in primary care, and then in a walk-in clinic during the early part of the pandemic. Looking for a change, she became a travel nurse in the fall of 2021, and she and her husband (and their two cats) spent a year exploring new places. 

They spent six months in Arizona where Whitney worked on a Navajo reservation. Her next assignment was CHKD, where she fell in love with the hospital and community, and also with pediatric dermatology. 

She is grateful to have the opportunity to stay here and continue to work with others who share her passion for patient-centered care and continued learning. She and her husband plan to make Hampton Roads their home and they'll soon welcome their first baby.
