Report Child Abuse

If you have a concern that a child you know has been abused or neglected, please report your concerns to the following:

  • Child Protective Services (CPS) in the city where the child lives and/or;
  • The Police Department in the city where the abuse or neglect occurred.

To report child abuse during work hours (8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), call CPS of the child's current residence:

To report child abuse after work hours (5 p.m. to 8 a.m.), and on weekends or holidays, call the Virginia State Child Abuse Hotline at (800) 552-7096 or the National Hotline at (800) 4-A-CHILD.
