Referral Guidelines
CHKD Surgical Group's Pediatric Orthopedic Surgeons provide diagnostic, therapeutic, and surgical care for children from birth to age 18.
Our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine program offers nonsurgical and surgical care to children and young athletes (through college age), as well as pediatric diagnostic imaging, sports medicine physical therapy rehabilitation, sports nutrition, sports performance/fitness services, and injury prevention services. Our program also holds multidisciplinary clinics like CP and Bone Health clinics where the patient is able to see multiple providers in one appointment. Below is a list of conditions we treat.

Appointments are available same day for urgent issues and typically within 24 hours for all other issues.
Please send any relevant materials not accessible through CHKD's Electronic Health Records (EHR) such as lab results, radiographs, and other accompanying reports. Some conditions require pre-consult work-up. Please contact our office at (757) 668-6550.
No pre-referral work-up is required for most conditions. No advanced imaging studies (i.e. CT or MRI) are needed before referral. If you have already done imaging studies, please have your patient/family hand-carry these images to their appointment if not available electronically. Please fax pertinent medical records to (757) 668-6544.
Your patient will be seen by the provider that is the best match for managing the current condition.
