Pediatric Residency

A Tradition of Excellence

The EVMS Pediatric Residency Program at CHKD exists to provide exceptional educational experiences and clinical opportunities that span the breadth of pediatric medicine. There are 66 total resident trainees, plus four additional chief residents. Successful completion of our fully accredited program leads to American Board of Pediatrics eligibility.

Over the course of three years, trainees acquire the skills to care for all children, enhance knowledge through education and research, and effect change through leadership and advocacy at Virginia's only freestanding children's hospital. Our program has proudly trained excellent pediatricians since 1962, boasting devoted faculty, a diverse community/patient population, and an inclusive environment.
