Bio

Ronika Robinson, a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner for our mental health program, is a native of Hampton Roads.

She was drawn to the enthusiasm and empathy of healthcare at a young age. Her aunt was a pharmacist, and her grandmother was a nurse. Their dedication to serve and care for others ignited her ambition to enter the healthcare profession.

Dr. Robinson worked as a licensed pharmacy technician before earning her associate degree in nursing at Tidewater Community College in 2010.

She worked as a psychiatric registered nurse for several years before furthering her studies at Old Dominion University, earning her bachelor's degree in nursing in 2014.

Recognizing the growing shortage and enormous demand for mental health services, she earned a master's degree in nursing with a concentration in psychiatry and mental health from University of South Alabama in 2017.

In 2022, Dr. Robinson earned a doctorate degree in nursing practice. She is also board certified in case management through American Nurses Credentialing Center.

She has spent most of her career working with children and adolescents. She enjoys working with others and believes that collaborative care is essential for positive outcomes. She is thrilled to continue her work with the pediatric population here at CHKD. She believes that the work she is doing with youth will benefit our future.
