Bio

Makena Green is a genetic counselor who works with families and individuals to provide information and support for those who have or are at risk for genetic disorders. Makena reviews personal and family medical history, facilitates genetic testing, and helps interpret genetic testing results to help families throughout the diagnostic process.  

Makena's interest in genetics began in high school and was solidified throughout her education. Genetic counseling allows her the opportunity to focus on the connection between herself, her patients, and the community. She sees great value in being able to connect individuals in similar circumstances to help them adapt to their diagnosis.  

Makena is originally from Herndon, VA, and is honored to provide care for families in her home state. In her free time, she enjoys reading, knitting, hanging out by the water, and exploring new places.
