Bio

Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, Katherine (Katie) Furches is a family nurse practitioner.  She joined Coastal Pediatrics in January 2024, after eight years providing pediatric primary care in a public health setting. Katie is grateful for outstanding mentors who have helped broaden her knowledge and sharpen her medical insight.

Katie earned her Master’s in Nursing from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, where she also obtained her bachelor's degree.

Katie strives to provide compassionate, comprehensive care as she builds authentic relationships with pediatric patients and their families.  She values collaboration  with colleagues at Coastal Pediatrics and believes that best-practice medical care is a team effort,  also working with CHKD specialists and community resources as needed. 

Outside of work, you will find Katie spending time with her family, especially biking, reading, and traveling.
