Personal Statement

I knew my calling in life was to become a pediatric otolaryngologist and I feel most at home in a children’s hospital. Having grown up in Virginia Beach, I feel honored and privileged to be able to practice at CHKD and provide care for children in Hampton Roads.

Bio

EVMS Otolaryngology

Dr. Hamersley is an assistant professor in the department of otolaryngology at Eastern Virginia Medical School. She is a fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologist and is board-certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. She belongs to several professional societies including the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

Dr. Hamersley is passionate about pediatric otolaryngology and enjoys caring for children of all ages. She is known for her excellent bedside manner and great rapport with patients and families. She prides herself on providing evidence-based care and is passionate about quality improvement. She is a member of the aerodigestive and vascular birthmarks teams at CHKD.

Dr. Hamersley was born in Key West, Florida, and moved frequently in early childhood because her father was a naval aviator. She moved to Virginia Beach when she was 8 and remains a resident today with her husband, daughter, son, and golden retriever, Beau. She enjoys spending time with her family, reading, going to the beach or pool, and walking Beau.
