Personal Statement

When we moved to Hampton Roads, my husband and I wanted the highest quality pediatric healthcare for our son who was an infant at the time. Upon my search, CHKD immediately popped up and we quickly established care. As a mom, I have been elated at the standard of care my own children have received via CHKD, and now I am even more honored for the opportunity to pay it forward and care for the children of our community as a CHKD provider.

Bio

Ekaterini (Katerina) graduated in 2014 with her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn.. Shortly after, she and her husband moved to their first duty station in Charleston, South Carolina, where she began her career as a nurse in the neonatal intensive care unit. Before obtaining her master’s degree in family practice from the University of Michigan, Katerina practiced as a NICU nurse for seven years, obtaining her certifications in neonatal intensive care nursing as well as in the care of the extremely low birthweight neonate.

Katerina and her husband enjoy spending time with their two children. As a mom and military spouse, Katerina is extremely passionate about uplifting caregivers through the journey of parenthood, especially those who may be doing so without the support of others.
