Personal Statement
Norfolk Pediatrics is in a community that was familiar to me growing up and one that I would be proud to serve in. As a student at Norfolk State, I volunteered at Tanner's Creek and Norview Elementary Schools, so I am happy to come back to this area. I love the foundation CHKD has set in the community and believe it is synonymous with great care and compassion. I was looking for a place were I could focus on patient care in totality and across multiple disciplines. I wanted to be a part of an organization that makes patient care a priority.
Bio
Dr. Carter understands the importance of trusting your pediatrician. She enjoys working with families and getting to know each of her patients' family dynamics. Dr. Carter believes that it's her responsibility as a doctor to work with each family to achieve their goals, and hopes to be a parent's best resource for their child's growth and development. She wants her patients to know the "why" behind medical decisions and encourages plenty of questions.
Dr. Carter has enjoyed taking care of children of all ages, but especially enjoys seeing her newborn patients develop. She hopes to guide each of her patients through adolescence as they become responsible for their own health.
Dr. Carter looks forward to promoting water safety, a healthy community, and a love of reading.
