Personal Statement
I am excited to be back at CHKD working in a different capacity. It is a great hospital system and everyone works for the best outcomes for the patient and their families. Working with pediatric patients is truly the best and most rewarding part of the day.
Bio
Elverum, a graduate of Hickory High in Chesapeake, found her calling in medicine after shadowing a physician assistant in CHKD’s cardiac surgery program.
After college, she worked at CHKD as a nursing aid to acquire health care experience while applying to PA school.
During her time in Lynchburg College's PA program, she pulled rotations at CHKD whenever possible and completed a doctorate degree in medical sciences while completing a fellowship in general pediatrics.
Outside of work, Elverum enjoys staying active and racing in triathlons, spending the weekends on the water, and being with family.
