Bio

Afaribea Fosu is a board-certified psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner. She obtained her bachelor's degree in nursing from George Mason University in 2013, and her master's in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University in 2019.

In the beginning of her nursing career, Afaribea managed care for general medical ailments in the adult and geriatric populations. After becoming a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, she provided care to children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral issues at a residential facility in the Hampton Roads area. 

Afaribea currently treats and manages care for children and adolescents with various mood disorders including depression, anxiety, trauma, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and ADHD.

Although Afaribea provides medication management, she also believes that therapy plays a vital role in managing one’s mental health needs.

In her free time, Afaribea enjoys spending time with her family and watching movies.
