Bio

Dr. Hoerr is CHKD's staff plastic surgeon specializing in cleft lip and palate repairs, craniofacial reconstructioncraniosynostosisbirthmarkstrauma, ear and hand surgery. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri Medical School and completed residencies in general and plastic surgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School and the University of California at Irvine. He also completed a fellowship in pediatric plastic surgery at USC/Children's Hospital of Los Angeles.

Dr. Hoerr (rhymes with care!) is the region's only plastic surgeon whose practice is exclusively for children. He sees patients at his offices at CHKD in Norfolk and the CHKD Health and Surgery Center in Newport News, and he performs surgery at all three of CHKD's surgery centers, including Princess Anne in Virginia Beach. He collaborates with a team of pediatric specialists, therapists and nurses in CHKD's Craniofacial Program to bring the full spectrum of care to children with head and face deformities and injuries.

Fernando Merino-Lopez was born with microtia, a small, underdeveloped right ear. But Dr. George Hoerr was able to give him a normal-looking ear while Dr. Stephanie Moody Antonio built him an eardrum, giving him the ability to hear out of it.
