As a mother to young children and a child of immigrants, Dr. Whiteside says being a pediatrician is her opportunity to combine evidence-based medicine with perspective. Dr. Whiteside loves including parents when making care plans because together they can decide what works best for each unique family. Her special interests as a certified lactation counselor include working with newborns and breastfeeding medicine.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, Dr. Whiteside moved to Hampton Roads from Columbus, Ohio, with her husband and two kids. Her hobbies include traveling, trying new foods, enjoying puzzles and board games, and being a plant mom.
