Dr. Garling is a doctor at the CHKD Urgent Care at Tech Center.
She grew up the oldest of four children on a small farm in rural Wisconsin.
She completed medical school in Kansas City before moving east for her residency in pediatrics at Wake Forest in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. She moved to Norfolk with her husband, who is in the U.S. Air Force, and has enjoyed getting to know the military community.
Dr. Garling is passionate about health information technology projects and researching ways that computer systems can improve patient and provider health. She also has a strong interest in parenting strategies and policies, for which she enjoys advocating on behalf of young families.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and young daughter, exploring the local beaches, swimming, reading, and learning to play the violin.
