Outpatient Phlebotomy Services

The mission of the outpatient phlebotomy department at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is to provide the highest quality specimen collection services. We take the time to earn your child's confidence by ensuring that the child understands what is about to take place. By gaining the child's confidence, the procedure is less traumatic for both child and parent. We take pride in making our patients feel as comfortable as possible.

Does your staff have special training?

Our medical office technicians are specifically selected for their ability to demonstrate their understanding and patience with children of various ages. We provide our staff continuing education on new techniques and procedures to maintain a high level of proficiency and to continue to improve service to our patients. Age-specific communication training is required for all employees of the phlebotomy services department to ensure that we use the best communication skills to put your child at ease.
