Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters is located in the center of a thriving medical complex that includes Sentara Norfolk General Hospital, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk Public Health Department, the Diabetes Institute, the Jones Institute for Reproductive Medicine and the Center for Pediatric Research in downtown Norfolk, Virginia.
Finding the Hospital
Please click on the starting location that is best for you.
- From the Peninsula, via the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel
- Take I-64 East through the Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel to Norfolk.
- Take the I-264 West exit to downtown Norfolk and look for the CHKD direction sign at Exit 11-B (Brambleton Avenue).
- Go west on Brambleton for 2 miles to Colley Avenue.
- Turn right on Colley, then left at Olney Road.
- CHKD is at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From the Peninsula, via the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel
- Take I-64 East to I-664 onto the Monitor-Merrimac Bridge-Tunnel.
- After the tunnel, look for the CHKD direction signs.
- Take Exit 15A (left exit) to I-264 East.
- After the downtown tunnel, take the left exit to St. Paul's Boulevard.
- Turn right on St. Paul's, then left at Brambleton Avenue.
- At the 6th stoplight (Colley Avenue), turn right, then left on Olney Road.
- CHKD is at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney Road.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From the Eastern Shore
- Take US 13 South through the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel.
- Take I-64 East to I-264 West and look for the CHKD direction sign at Exit 11-B (Brambleton Avenue).
- Go west on Brambleton 2 miles to Colley Avenue.
- Turn right on Colley, then left at Olney Road.
- CHKD is at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From Virginia Beach, Chesapeake or Norfolk
- Take I-64 West to I-264 West toward downtown Norfolk and look for the CHKD direction sign at Exit 11-B (Brambleton Avenue).
- Go west on Brambleton 2 miles to Colley Avenue.
- Turn right on Colley, then left at Olney Road.
- CHKD is at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From Suffolk, Franklin or Ahoskie
- Take 58 East to I-264 East (look for the CHKD direction sign) and proceed through the downtown tunnel to Norfolk.
- Take the left exit to St. Paul's Boulevard.
- Turn right on St. Paul's, then left at Brambleton Avenue.
- At the 5th stoplight (Colley Avenue), turn right, then left on Olney Road.
- CHKD is at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney Road.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From Northeastern North Carolina
- From Elizabeth City: Take 17 North for approximately 30 miles to Route 104 North.
- Take 104 N for 7 miles and then I-464 North to downtown Norfolk.
- Follow signs to downtown Norfolk, proceeding over the Berkeley Bridge.
- Take the left exit (Exit 9) to St. Paul's Boulevard.
- Turn right at St. Paul's, then left at the third stoplight (Brambleton Avenue).
- At the 5th light (Colley Ave) turn right, then left at the second light to Olney Road.
- CHKD is in the second block at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney Road.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
- From the Outer Banks: Take 168 North and the 168 Bypass to I-464.
- Follow signs to downtown Norfolk, proceeding over the Berkeley Bridge.
- Take the left exit (Exit 9) to St. Paul's Boulevard.
- Turn right at St. Paul's, then left at the third stoplight (Brambleton Avenue).
- At the 5th light (Colley Ave) turn right, then left at the second light to Olney Road.
- CHKD is in the second block at the corner of Children's Lane and Olney Road.
- Visitor parking is on the left.
Parking at the Hospital
We are happy to provide free parking for one vehicle per patient per day. Each family will receive a punch card that allows one parking ticket to be validated for each day your child is an inpatient. Please keep this card handy and secure. We cannot provide a new card if it is forgotten, lost or stolen.
For additional parking needs, you may purchase discount books by calling Edison Parking Corporation at (757) 446-5618, which operates all visitor lots in the Medical Center complex. Long-term discounted parking is also available.
