Grab your running (or walking) shoes for the 6th Annual family-oriented 5k and 1 mile fun run to benefit Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters. The event starts and ends at the Lytle Law parking lot, 11801 Canon Blvd., Newport News, with the course running through the beautiful City Center and Oyster Point area. 75 Pizza Huts throughout Hampton Roads and Richmond will be raising money for the kids at Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.  For six weeks, they will be selling CHKD Miracle Balloons when you visit or order.  Every gift matters for the kids who need CHKD.  Please make a donation and enjoy the yummy flavors of pizza and more! 

Enterprise Car Sales is teaming up with local credit unions to help the kids at CHKD! Purchase a car from Enterprise Car Sales from June 1-30, 2012 and Enterprise will donate $250 to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters for each purchase. On June 1st the DJs from 92.9 The Wave will broadcast live from the CHKD lobby to raise funds for CHKD's childhood cancer program. This is the only radiothon in Hampton Roads that raises money for childhood cancer services and research that stays right here in our community. More than 500 children each year are followed by CHKD's cancer program and YOU can make a difference! Tune in for stories of courage and to call in your pledge!

Tee off with Norfolk Wire & Electronics on Tuesday, June 5th as they host their 5th annual golf tournament to benefit CHKD. Registration begins at 11:30am at Virginia Beach National Golf Club with a shotgun start at 12:30pm. VB National Golf Club is located at 2500 Tournament Drive in Virginia Beach. ABNB Federal Credit Union's 9th Annual Fish Fest is set for June 22, 2012 at the Virginia Beach Fishing Center located at the corner of 5th Street and Pacific Avenue at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront. With two boats and more than 175 anglers this year's event promises to be bigger and better than ever! Registration is $65 per person or $120 for a group of four and begins at 7am with boats leaving at 8am. Boats will be arriving back at the pier at noon for a special catered lunch. Save the Date! On July 20th-22nd, Anthem will once again present the Annual Anthem LemonAid fundraiser to help fight childhood cancer. Sign up to host your own LemonAid stand, and you will receive a kit with everything you need to be a success - lemonade mix, cups, pitcher, balloons, stickers, promotional signage and even a foam lemonhead hat! All you need is a location, water and ice. Lemonade sells for $1 and all donations support CHKD's childhood cancer program. Register at www.chkd.org/lemon . Giving never tasted so sweet! Visit your local Dairy Queen on Thursday, July 26th and enjoy a "Miracle Treat" to help the kids at CHKD. Participating regional Dairy Queen locations will donate a minimum of $1 per blizzard treat purchased to CHKD on this day! Join companies and individuals from around Hampton Roads in support of CHKD by wearing jeans and going casual for the kids on Wednesday September 12th. Individuals or groups can participate in CHKD’s Miracle Jeans Day by making a one-time donation to CHKD. In return, participants will receive a recognition certificate and CHKD stickers to wear with their jeans on September 12th.
